A Los Angeles court commissioner delayed ruling on a name alter petition by the Lakers forward until finally Sept. sixteen.
Superior Court spokeswoman Elizabeth Martinez states the court cited Artest's exceptional traffic warrants as the purpose for the delay. Further details was not instantly available.
Artest did not arrive to court Friday and his legal professional Jill Rubin declined to comment following listening to of the judge's determination.
The 31-year-previous Artest had been counting on the identify change to go by means of, announcing on Twitter Thursday evening that he was arranging a celebratory barbecue.
