Der Toyota Sports 800 war Toyotas erster in Serie gefertigter Sportwagen. Der Prototyp, Toyota Publica Sports genannt, wurde 1962 erstmals auf der Tokyo Vehicle Demonstrate gezeigt. Zum Einstieg hatte er ein aufschiebbares Dach wie aus dem Raumfahrtzeitalter und war mit dem 28 bhp (24 kW) starken Motor des Publica 700 ausgestattet. In Japan wird der Sports activities 800 oft als „Yota-Hachi“ (Kurzform für dt.: Toyota eight) bezeichnet. 1965 startete die Serienproduktion.

The Toyota Sports activities 800 was Toyota Motor Corporation's initial manufacturing sports vehicle. The prototype for the Sports activities 800, known as the Toyota Publica Sports activities, debuted at the 1962 Tokyo Auto Display, featuring a area age sliding canopy and employing the 28 hp (21 kW) electricity educate of the Toyota Publica 700, a Japanese market economy automobile. The Toyota Sports activities 800 is affectionately known as the "Yota-Hachi", which is a Japanese short kind for "Toyota 8". In 1965, the auto went into genuine creation.

Bradley Wiggins prolonged his lead at the Vuelta a España, with his chief rival, Italy's Vincenzo Nibali, who trailed the British cyclist by just four seconds at the start of the day, dropping more than a minute on stage 14.
Estonia's Rein Taaramae took a solo victory on the mountainous, 175km stage, whilst 2nd was Juan José Cobo of Spain, twenty five seconds back, with his Geox staff-mate and compatriot David de la Fuente in third.
"I am very delighted simply because during the Vuelta I have had a great deal of bad days," a delighted Taaramae mentioned. "I assumed about pulling out, but my crew director encouraged me to continue on."
Wiggins, fifth in the stage, 45 seconds back, crossed the line with his Staff Sky group-mate Chris Froome, who returns to second spot all round.
